Innersprings
Leggett & Platt is the leading supplier worldwide of innersprings to the bedding industry. Since 1970, L&P has supplied its own wire for innerspring, box spring and seating constructions. This enables the company to manufacture high quality wire to exacting specifications that are 50% more demanding than industry standards.
Leggett & Platt Continues to Advance the Art of Wire Forming.
A commitment to the continuous improvement of equipment and product design is shown in the millions of dollars invested each year in research and development. This assures all L&P customers premium quality components for production and sale of better bedding systems, and an even better value for the end consumer.

All L&P Innersprings are stress relieved through our tempering process. Tempering is the process of stress relieving or normalizing high carbon spring wire to make it want to keep its designed shape. This process is mandatory and may be performed by various techniques to include gas firing or electrically heating the subject material. The heat or temperature must be in the range between 450 and 500 degrees Fahrenheit to complete the process of molecular alignment. If the process is not conducted, an innerspring unit would not be able to maintain its proper or intended finished height. The stress relieving process helps trigger the chemistry in the high carbon wire to help produce long term performance.

L&P offers a complete line-up of quality innersprings which aid bedding manufacturers in selling premium bedding more effectively and promotional bedding more profitably.
